I have never been in support of thinking that the sun will kill you, but medications are required.
Like most health contrast, vitamin D deficiency (or insufficiency) will create disarray in many systems.
Vitamin D lies like a quiet master within your skin and without the light of the sun to inspire its awakening, our health suffers.
This silent master is pre-vitamin D and is named 7-dehydrocholesterol. This molecule requires UVB radiation in order to begin the cascade of one of your most important nutrients.
In order for this conversion to take place, cholesterol must first be present.
It will make a stop at the liver and kidneys prior to transforming into active vitamin D known as calcitriol.
Vitamin D has demonstrated its prowess as an immune system modulator having shown to be both paramount in fighting(an Italian study showed result with treatment) viral infections, cancer, and anti-inflammation.
It's role in anti-inflammation tells us that the mechanism behind pain reception may be helped by making sure that levels are adequate.
It’s role in managing calcium tells us it’s value in heart health, bone health and even depression.
Hypo- or hypercalcemia may be signs that vitamin D intake or conversions are inadequate.
Symptoms of hypocalcemia may include seizures, muscle cramps, and numbness, and hypercalcemia may manifest as brain fog, muscle twitches, constipation or bone pain.
As with all nutrients and supplementation, vitamin D should be considered with care and are not be taken willy-nilly.
Liquid vitamin D infusions are administration methods that I have seen positive changes in adequacy and other measurements for over a decade.
This has been measured by assessing lab values or doing VRA testing to determine appropriateness for an individual.
It is a fat soluble vitamin, which means it cannot be broken down without fat and synthetic forms need taken with care and monitoring.
Before taking any supplement, you should always have your medical doctor or health care team evaluate the product for the safety and efficacy for your personal health.
