Vitamin A deficiency will impact more than just eye health.

When vitamin A is in deficiency, we will deplete the immune response and inflammation with increase due to tissue damage and free-radicals.

With an increase in inflammation, we are at risk for all other diseases founded in it. This includes heart disease, cancer, diabetes, depression, erectile dysfunction, and dementia, etc.

A deficiency in vitamin A will also create digestive system dysfunction. Although you may not end up with diarrhea or constipation, you will end up with malabsorption. This means, until this is corrected, you are not getting the vital nutrients that you ingest as food or supplement.

It stands to reason then, that vitamin A in appropriate amounts would reverse inflammation. In appropriate amounts, it will help fight viruses, cancer, and moderate tumor growth.

Form And Function

But it is very important to understand that real vitamin A is not an isolated molecule. Like all naturally occurring nutrients, it is in complex with other nutrients that make it work best. For example vitamin A is in the form of a retinol ester and in the presence of carotenoids mixed with chlorophyll.

Real betacarotene, retinyl esters, mixed carotenoids betacarotene are names of natural vitamin A and will have molecules of mixed shapes and natural sources are attached to fat molecules known to help with toxicity.

However, synthetic Vitamin A, known as vitamin A acetate or palmitate, can take away from vitamin E's antioxidant ability and actually contribute to inflammation.

Synthetic's are composed of or created chemical processing that are carcinogenic compounds and can actually contribute to more.

Appropriate Ranges

As with all nutrition, we can use the human physiological template to begin, but to know the "appropriate range" for a unique individual requires investigation.

A person's health and health needs will begin with understanding genetic predispositions, blood, tests, salivary, tests, urine tests, questionnaires, and VRA.

If you have no symptoms, and you eat right and exercise, that is amazing! This should give you exactly what you want...vibrant health.

But because symptoms are the last signs of a body in distress, I encourage periodic testing to determine what's truly under the surface as we all know that there are many silent rivers flowing inside of us that will not show themselves until the illness-train is running full force.

To keep the momentum of your health proactive, get checked.
