Waking Up To Purpose

One dimension of health that I teach my students is occupational health.

Occupational health typically deals with work place safety in environment and can even be work relationships.

Although these are conventional factors into occupational wellness, I extrapolate the concept of occupational health into mission and money.

Yes, financial fitness is a part of our wellness. But bigger than that, weaving value, purpose and investment into our labor is mission.

It takes courage to display our vulnerability through our mission as it is our creative gift to others.

Our mission is our art-form displayed with the medium of our skills, gifts, and mastery and can transform a job into a career.

Mission evidences that our efforts mean something to the world; have helped someone beyond ourselves; that our gifts, intent, and focus are understood, valued, received, wanted, needed, and chosen.

Labor without mission is depleting and is counterintuitive to wellness. If what we are doing takes away from our life rather than adds to it, that doesn’t compute.

This post was prompted by the message in the picture that I received this morning.

Many years ago I catalyzed someone’s healing and left a mark…

THIS is a large part of why I was called back into healing and why the fire of my mission has been reignited.

What I have learned about mission …

Mission IS richness, abundance, and more valuable than money…

If we hit a patch of resistance with our mission, it’s not a stop-sign, just a speed bump…

Allowing the rejection of others to puncture our mission balloon can have a negative impact on our personal wellness and block our potential to positively impact others…Haters don’t get a seat at our table, a voice, a vote, or a choice about our path...

Valuing the journey is the touchdown….

Sometimes we need a rest on our mission path to regroup, redefine our values, and course correct…

Keep showing up….
Keep doing your thing…
Keep creating from your heart and gift to those that will receive it …
Keep picking up your sword for those that choose you and what you do…
Your mission matters and changes lives…

Stay well today
